Lovely Listing

Taking pride in one's ethnic heritage a tad too far

What you can’t see: the Scottish ninja camouflaged on the ceiling, waiting to drop on the next person to walk through the swinging doors.

(Found by Chris. Warning: music. The kind of music they play on the TV while showing “Weather around the USA!”)

What a fancy, yet completely useless listing website.

By the way, I think a movie about Scottish Ninjas would be very cool. Of course it would have to be filmed in a house with a tartan ceiling, and what luck, this one is in Hollywood. Perhaps that explains everything.

I thought WeHo would have a bit more design savvy.

Everyone knows this house just SCREAMS gingham and stripes!

  3. burhanistan says:

That house has gone past light speed and into LUDICROUS SPEED!

  4. Angel says:

You're right. That is exactly the kind of music they play on the weather channel. These people like their plaids… yikes!

  5. Wide Awake Wife says:

I love how the wallpaper goes from the ceiling in one room to the walls of the next. Yikes!

    I… uh… I want to unsee it.

Of course, there's an up-side. Living in that house could easily paralyze you with sorrow, which would allow you to waste time with amazing efficiency.

    Well, I think it's an up-side.

The only up-side I can see is one for your boss: with this to come home to, anybody in their right mind would be begging to stay at work, — ‘please Boss, can I have some more unpaid overtime?!?’

  7. bzzzzgrrrl says:

I obviously had to go to the listing just to hear the music. Perfect description.

  8. walkingwaters says:

Eek. My seventeen month old was really grooving to the swell music, tho!

  9. Land of shimp says:

I'm stuck between cowering in horror, and wondering how in the blazes they managed to hang wallpaper on the ceiling.

Is it contact paper, perhaps? Is that kitchen coated in the stuff my grandmother used to line drawers with??

  10. Aim says:

What? Doesn't everybody have a plaid ceiling?

Two different classic SNL sketches inspire two thoughts:

I guess the Scotch Tape Store at the Old Mall finally closed!

If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!

  12. Glory von Hathor says:

Gaunie no mek yir ceilin'… Just, no. No.

  13. anaceofkidneys says:

Is this really a contemporary photo? Looks a little Lileks-y to me.

  14. Stuart says:

Oh my sweet holy hell. Your description of the music was spot-on. I clicked the link before reading your description, and the first thing I thought when hearing the music was "highs in the upper 80's with a slight chance of overnight showers".

Then I read your description and audibly snorted.

    Nicely done.

  15. Rachel says:

Weeks later, the image of those Scottish ninjas is still haunting me.

  16. Tristan says:

Am I the only one who was so busy noticing the brightly colored furnishings, the ceiling went unnoticed until it was mentioned? Am I?
