“Okay, let’s put up a cross to keep the eeevil spirits out. Well, maybe one more, the first one might not work. How about this one? This one? Maybe this one will do it… Oh, screw it, nail them all up there. Done!”

I pray you won’t be cross with me but….

  2. Farter says:

    Maybe Satan lives next door.

  3. Joshua says:

must be a southwest thing, cuz I see “cross walls” all the time here in Texas. It’s actually a popular fad to collect crosses and display them on a wall. If you look closely at the picture, each cross is unique and decorative. I know half a dozen people with a wall like that…I used to have one, but got tired of it. So, not really sure what’s so odd about this one except that maybe they should take them down for the listing to not alienate non-Christians.

    • Sara says:

So they’re like thimbles. But religious. I see.

      • Joshua says:

Sara – Ha! Exactly like thimbles…you know the old hymn that goes “Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Oh, sometimes it makes me thimble, thimble, thimble…”

    • kdaniel says:

Same here, I’ve seen it multiple times in houses and apartments in Texas. But then again, I’m pretty sure everybody here just loves Jesus more, everything’s bigger in TX, including religion, y’all!

      • The Mad Gasser says:

When I moved out to W. TX, I thought the people were scared of vampires. I then found out that they are trying to make up for their sinful ways.

  4. JMixx says:

Have they been having a problem with a vampire infestation???

  5. Angel says:

I didn’t know that Oklahoma had a Holy Wall.

  6. Just Me says:

Why is it that Jews never seem to go overboard in this particular way? I mean, you never see real estate listings with walls completely covered with mezuzahs.

    Well, hardly ever.

  7. Land of shimp says:

What makes it particularly strange is it’s just that one wall in the entire house. Everything else in the house is very restrained, an ode to neutrality, even.

By plastering that one wall with crosses I can’t help but think, “EEEEEK! What the hell does that one wall do in the dead of night?!?”

“Don’t mind that, that’s The Keep for the sins of all mankind. Remodeling is, of course, out of the question.”

Even if you bought the place and moved in with nary a cross on you, I think you’d never quite get over the feeling that that wall was the big brewin’ evil.

Here’s a thought, take the crosses down and take another picture. Staged for sale, people, staged for sale.

  8. Ruth says:

I’ve got an Israeli friend with a hamsa collection on her kitchen wall–it’s actually pretty cool.

  9. dono1 says:

Why did the chicken cross the dining room?

  10. Lisa says:

I’ve seen Jewish homes that are heavily Torah-laden.

This kitchen makes me think of Piper Laurie, in Carrie.

  11. Cassy says:

lovely room…but what is with that chicken?!

  12. Keeshe says:

I’m sure there is a vampire confined in that wall.. A very thin one. Probably one that sparkled too much for the home owner.

  13. Fuzzy Izmit says:

I am actually planning on having a cross wall too when I get a house. I think crosses are pretty!

  14. pepsibookcat says:

And, the fridge has a built-in holy water ice maker.
