Chair has asked me to pass along a message (or maybe I should dial back on the afternoon gimlets, whatever, I’m running with it). Chair has noticed that Vladimir Putin gets to have Vladurday, and cake decorators get their Sunday Sweets. So when is Chair’s day? A special day, dedicated to all things Chair?
“You can have one,” I told Chair, for this is a persistent hallucination, “when I come up with a good name for a Day of Chair.” And I haven’t yet. And Chair is… displeased.
So please help me. Chairday? Chairteenth? Saturchair? What?

All Chairs’ Day?
November 3rd – following All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day
Drat! You stole my idea, went back in time, and posted it before me
: )
Chairukah! Then Chair can have eight days!
drat… I was gonna toss in Chairnakah!
And by the way, whatever its named, I think this holiday should feature lots of sit-ar music.
Fest-o-chair!
Why not give Chair a whole month? November could totally be “Respect The Chairs” month.
chairabration
How about seaterday?
Shrove Chairs Day?
Also known as Chaircake Day here in England.
The only day in February we get go pig out and cover our chairs in lemon and sugar.
Chairdependence day.
What about Chairity Day?
Drat, you totally stole my idea.
So Chairish your wuve…. fowever… and ever…
Dang, and I was gonna suggest a Chairity Ball in Chair’s honor.
*Idea*
Sara if you’re serious about having a day devoted to chair, you could indeed call it Chairity Day and give it a worthwhile purpose (not that just being fun and honoring Chair isn’t worthwhile).
How about having a little online fundraiser for a good cause. You could donate the money to, say, Goodwill– a cause near and dear to Chair’s heart, since it helps find good homes for his homeless cousins (and helps people find jobs too!).
(Disclosure: I work for Goodwill.)
Silly Chair.
Doesn’t it know we all have….Bad Chair Days?
tuulikki, *snort* I am so using that the next time I fall out of a chair. Since I’m drinking right now, I might get to say it tonight!
ooooooh, now I’m seeing a T-shirt.
“Warning: I’m having a Bad Chair Day.”
Pic of fallen chair.
Pardon me–that should have read:
Pic of fallen Chair.
Chairbor Day
Sitterday.
Bad (c)hair day?
Chairway to heaven?
umm…
Chair Fair?
That’s all I got.
Chairish is the word I use to describe…
How chair-a-table to give Chair a day.
Febuchairy. It’s not a long month, and there’s not much going on then anyway.
Chairama!
Thankchairoweenmas
This is the worst one so far, and also my favorite.
Chairturday!
Chairy Jubilee, a weekly/monthly/biannual event to commemorate the first appearance of Chair on this blog.
oh, this is my favorite! Chairy Jubilee is the best one so far!
Yes, agreed. But it should be Chairy’s Jubilee. 8) Scans better. IMHO
i love this one best too!
Chairies Jubilee!
…A day devoted to all that is chair
Chairturday.
The name of the day of the chair would shift as language and culture shifted, as the other days’ names have.
The day of the week for chairs is, of course, Setteeday.
WIN!
Wooooow what particular blog, I stumbled onto. I come back, but want to make a Swedish cyber footsteps behind me.
Agneta, a Swedish one …
Chairwanza?
damn, that is the only thing i’d managed to come up with
I don’t know. I think you should appoint a chairman to decide.
(But I do think it should be a weekly day, not an annual event.)
I like Chairukah, since Chair does deserve 8 whole days…but I also like Chairity Day. (The Goodwill worker makes excellent points as to why.)
Why thank you.
Oh goodness, you work in a Goodwill in Houston? Could you please do us a favor, then…?
If you happen to see a man in his mid-to-late 60′s, about 6 foot tall, glasses, bearing a strong resemblance to Santa Claus in faded blue jeans and a Hawaiian shirt, with a rolled up bandanna tied around his head and loose slippers, then for the love of all that is holy and pure, PLEASE shoo him the heck out of the place before he buys everything in sight! Both my house AND my Mom’s is overflowing already!
Ha! I don’t think his store would take it too kindly if I started shooing off their best customer.
I’ll keep an eye out for him though. And point him towards the best deals.
*sigh* You’ve been warned, m’dear! Just watch out, he flirts.
Chairbor Day!!!….The day after Labor Day!! In honor of all Chair’s hard work and committment.
Dobar dan Chair good chair day in croation
Stuhl tage chair day in german
or maybe christmas is a “day of good chair”
These have to be my favorite comments ever!
Overflowing with loverly puns, I am going to sit and enjoy my very own Chair and ponder a better world where we celebrate sitting on our arses.
You guys rock!
Thanksitting Day
One would have to be careful using that one. It could go very wrong, very quickly.
Replace Wednesday with Chairsday!
Chairy Pickin’
Uh… “Chunday”?
how about seaterday? i mean, it doesn’t actually have the word “chair” in it, but “seat” is a good synonym, right?
Maybe we could just do away with Mondays all together, call the newly acquired day of the week Chairday, and stay home from work to sit in our chairs.
but if we called it “Chairnukah”, wouldn’t the C be silent?
I like Chairbruary – 28 days of Chair, with an extra day every 4 years!
My brother and cousin already wrote the theme song for whatever this blessed holiday gets called: http://jansenprice.com/tyroverify/index.php?a_id=1&full=Y (track two)
I vote for Sitterday, a day complete with a Chairity Ball and Chairy’s Jubilee!
SaChairday!
“Unlabor Day.” “Standover.” “Keisterrest.” Or, simply, “Seating.” The possibilities are endless.
I’m sorry but Chair can’t have a day. Before you all stone me, you have to hear me out.
Think about it, if Chair had a day, then no one would be able to sit on Chair that day. Governments would falter, since they couldn’t put their behinds on Chair when they sign their various legislations. Businesses would come crashing down, because their executives couldn’t christen Chair with their derriere that day. Families would fall apart, since they couldn’t come together at the dinner table, because there would be no where to sit.
I think Chair is just trying to start a revolution! And if that is the case…there’s already a day named for that…one that’s celebrated, in one form or another, in every country around the world…They call it…Independence Day!
Viva La Chair Revolucion!!
Sat-urday seems appropriate (or Sit-urday)
Chairteenth- It could be monthly! Not too much, not too little!
Seater Day?
In trying to come up with a suggestion for Chair’s special day, I was trying to find the day/month that Chair was “born”. In my research I found this site.

Awesome.
Wow! Thanks for chairing this link!
hellooooo… Valentine’s Day? The best day for Chairubs?
Sweet chairity? Or is that to chairdish?
How about a Chair calendar? You can have a Chick Chair, Chair’s cousins, and so on. A Chair for every month!
Sunday and Chair
(I got you babe)
Why does the Indian in the background look like his headdress is on fire?!
Chairity day, every day.
It’s gotta be Chairsday!
Maybe Chairentine’s Day. It’s like Valentine’s day, but its about the love of chairs, not people.
Thankschairing? Chairgiving?
Either way it is an important day for Chair. I mean without chair and all his friends, how can we eat at the table? We’d have to eat sitting under the table!!
Seaterday
Hey, Box gets a day every year, right after Christmas, at least in some countries. Chair is at least as deserving as Box. We need Chairing Day! Maybe right after New Year’s Day.
how bout ChairMONday…. ?
