What has this site done to me? I looked at the location and realized I’m now familiar with what constitutes a good location in Seattle. I don’t even live in Washington State. Then I looked at the price and realized, “Hey, that’s not actually a bad price…” Looked at the interior and thought, “Okay, so it needs all the finishing work, but it’s completely framed…”

And I realized the darn thing is a bargain. It’s like I’ve contracted a disease, specific to viewing Seattle and San Fransisco listings on a regular basis, wherein the sane part of my brain dies immediately whenever I see the name of either city.

I then apply my “Outrageously overpriced location” logic and am happy with houses that look like THAT.

I need a drink.

By the way, I meant to add: It actually looks worse when you walk by than the photo shows. I think the reason they listed it now is that we’re entering windstorm season here in Seattle and they’re probably afraid it won’t survive until the “spring housing bounce”.

It’s a terrific, quiet, tree-lined neighborhood. The next block over is a street that is completely lined with large flowering cherry trees on both median strips – absolutely beautiful to walk under in the spring. A Tully’s coffee shop and a very nice restaurant are at the corner, about 150 feet away, where a trolley line goes that will take you directly downtown. An expensive part of Capitol Hill. This eyesore has been in this condition for well over a year.

Love the charming front porch.
