Hi. Sara here. Everything above the photos was written by my LOLcat overlords. Here are two indications it was done by them: 1) the word “kitteh,” and 2) ohmygod why did I go see New Moon last night with a rowdy bunch of drinkers ooooh my head ooooh my eyes ooooh my soul  if you think I have the wherewithal to write my own post today you are so very mistaken.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go wash the shame out of my hair in my nice kitteh-free shower.

team Charlie all the way

Here in Norway a firm puts a lime in all the pictures no matter if the house is nice or ugly. That is their new marketing strategy! And we frown upon it in our facebook-group: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/group.php?gid=2297824567

  2. goodlookingelf says:

That is just weird, I wouldn’t hire this person to list my $500,000 + apartment!

  3. Sandy says:

I love it! I’d buy from her if I had money and wanted to live in Brooklyn…

  4. MsUnreliable says:

Noooo, I asked you to really show off the plush kitCHEN! KITCHEN!

  5. Land of shimp says:

I actually like that. It helps give a sense of scale to rooms, which is probably why she started doing it.

Plus, it’s kind of nutty in a nonthreatening way, which I also like. I think it would freak me out a bit more if they were all different stuffed animals, simply because the thought of the agent busting in with a sack of stuffed animals is a little too nutty.

But yeah, maybe I’m easily charmed, and not bothered much by eccentricity. The ploy works with me, I’m finding it really easy to recall the pictures of the listing because of that stuffed cat, which is why she does it, I’m sure.

We bought a new house in June, and anyone who has looked at listings knows they all start to blend together in your mind when you are looking. That’s one way to keep her images from blending.

    Plus, it’s just a little nuts :)

Well, I think putting the plush cat on a window sill or a kitchen cabinet is one thing. Sneaking out of the shower stall is something else entirely.

  6. gvh says:

What were those books I read as a kid when I was trying to learn French that had a wee yellow duckie somewhere in the crowd? An ornithological pre-Wally of sorts…

Yeah. Crazy Cat Realtor mibbe had that book too.

    • Helen says:

I remember those! It was in the books “1000 French words” or something like that? I do definitely remember it. But you never learn the word canard, so you couldn’t say, “Ou-est le canard jaun?” “Il est dans la salle de bain!”

  7. Lilly says:

I like it! Maybe this kitteh belongs to the gnome in Amelie Poulain movie…

It’s more like a secret blog about kitty’s adventures in real estate.

  9. I haven’t laughed as much at a listing photo in a long time as I laughed at the kitteh in the shower stall. Bwaha!

  10. Apel Mjausson says:

I agree that it gives a sense of scale. Also a lot less annoying than big, honking watermarks that others use to prevent people from stealing their images.

  11. Kate says:

My only question is, does the stuffed animal come with the house? Or do I have to pay an extra $8.60?

  12. See, in my opinion this is makes a nice innocent looking stuffed animal into something horror movie-esque. I look at these pictures and feel like that creepy kitty is stalking me. Oh, and just in case you wondered I am very much a cat person.

  13. Quark says:

I like it – “The adventures of little kitty”

Little kitty was tired. After having her dinner, little kitty wanted somewhere to sleep. She tried sleeping on the windowsill – that was too noisy. She tried sleeping on the kitchen counter – that was too bright. She tried sleeping beside the cooker – that was too hot. She tried sleeping beside the freezer – that was too cold. She tried sleeping on the bathroom sink – that was too close to the wall. She tried sleeping in the bathroom sink – that was too small. She tried sleeping in the shower – that was too wet. She tried sleeping in the sunbeam – that was just right.

  14. EL Fay says:

I think it’s a joke. They wanted to make their listing memorable. Ditto the creepy clown dummies in an otherwise normal suburban house that was posted a few months ago.

  15. Just Me says:

Wow, they’re asking nearly a million dollars for an apartment. Then after you’ve laid down a cool mill, they’ll let you live there if you just cough up another $1400 per month for “maintenance.”

Brooklyn’s come a long way since the Sweathogs, huh?

  16. Call me crazy too, but I love it. I think it’s a quirky way to put your signature on your listings. Couple it with an effective campaign and it could solidly build brand recognition.

  17. Cathy says:

I *love* this!!!!! Up with Kittehs!!!!!

  18. LMA says:

It’s a little crazy, but cute crazy, so that’s cool. Now, if she was putting those horrible faceless life size dolls against all the walls, *that* would be something else entirely.

  19. Avis says:

    Gotta get a Gund™!

  20. Katie says:

Judging scale of room requires knowledge of scale of kitteh. It could be one huge kitteh. I think it’s cute, though.

And may I just say, I love that bathroom.

  21. Ninny says:

    I. so. love. this. site.

  22. Stitch says:

does this place come with Shelon Cooper?
    *sings*
“soft kitty warm kitty little ball of fur.
happy kitty sleepy kitty purr purr purr.”

  23. Helen says:

This is awesome! I love it!

  24. JV says:

“Silly kitteh… sneaking into the shower.”

Somebody let the cat out of the shower! The meowing is driving me insane!

  25. JMixx says:

If the realtor’s name is Katherine (nickname Kat,Kitty, or something along those lines), then this is a great way to keep the listing connected to the realtor in potential buyers’ minds!

If her name is Robin, however…hmm.

  26. Goof says:

I can’t help it, but it reminds me of my own stuffed animal project.

  27. Trilink says:

What weirds me out most, is that, although this realtor is in Brooklyn, she uses cropped a picture of the houses at Alamo Square in San Francisco at the top of every web page.

  28. slh says:

Kitteh is much cheaper than hiring a model to smile and extend her arm.

Actually I think it’s kind of a cute and clever gimmick.

  29. dld says:

Same concept, different prop (this guy is a very well-known realtor for the houseboat community in Seattle):

  30. JV says:

One of the other listings on the site has an apartment with “accidental baby space” that can also be used as an office!!!

I thought the wording was great. So useful…

  31. Kat says:

You should really put your awesome-licious Photoshop skills to work for the Crazy Cat Realtor Lady and help her out with kitteh placement in her Italy! segment. Just sayin’.
