Yesterday’s attempt at finding a few minutes of peace and quiet failed, resulting in me being covered in glitter glue and googly eyes.
If you need me today, I’ll be in the silo. please don’t tell my kids

Preping Silo 1 for liftoff, initiation complete.
5… 4… 3… 2…
Abort! The hampster has fallen off the wheel, I repeat, the hampster has fallen off the wheel! Abort liftoff.
“Priced at value of land, septic, well, electric, cleared, landscaped land in very desirable area”.
Minus the $15,000 it’s going to cost to tear that burned-out-shell-of-a-silo down…
Yeah the silo likely isn’t salvageable (first clue: No pictures of the interior is a dead giveaway), but holy smokes (couldn’t resist) that is actually a beautiful piece of land.
As in, I’d really better not show it to my husband, or the next time you hear from me I’ll be in the middle of renovating a burned out husk of a silo.
That is honestly a beautiful piece of land…in Woodstock, built in 1975? Wonder what caused the fire? “Sorry man, it was never up to code, at the time we thought that was buying into the establishment. Live and learn.”
In all fairness to the sellers and agents, they don’t pretend that this house is for sale. They’re essentially selling the land (which is beautiful) and the infrastructure.
THAT IS NOT THE CORRECT ATTITUDE AND YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY NOW.
LOL!!!!
I like “great care must be exercised in viewing.” Like maybe there’s land mines on the property or something.
I was thinking more along the lines of, ‘watch out, the floor is missing over here”
I think those silo/windmill homes are awesome – no inaccessible awkward corners and plenty of sunlight all the way round. I’d buy that one if my heart was already set on this one:

Is that a dwelling? What is that?
I think that’s where you find the wizard to give you the book that will help you on your quest to save the kingdom…
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I’ve come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silo…
In 1981 or 2 there was an article in Popular Science about making domed houses out of silo tops. They were cool as could be.
“Great care must be exercised in viewing” but condition is “Fair”?!
Hate to think what “Poor” would be like.
There’s something rather “Hobbit-y” about this listing. They need to market to that fanbase, presuming the wanabe Shire folk are credit worthy.
credit worthy AND with excellent handyman skills…..
This is up for debate, but if I might add that living in upstate New York my whole life has taught me two things: The land is beautiful but the people are insufferable. You never really get over either of these things either.
