I also think it’s stupendous! Thanks or sharing.

  2. Ann says:

    FOR sharing…sheesh

  3. Esragoria says:

and this is one of the many reasons why James May is awesome. I’ve been following him and the house from the Top Gear (amazing british car show) blog/website and i have to most definitely agree this is one of the coolest things in the world.
Apparently, after he moved out, someone stole the cat and James posted “missing cat” posters around the area.

  4. WendyBear says:

Wow. That’s amazing! I agree that it’s more art than house, but WOW!

  5. Joe's mom says:

every 8 yo boys dream house! I think it is an awesome piece of artwork – thanks for sharing – now out to buy more legos for my son :)

  6. hee hee says:

LOVE IT!!! I couldn’t LIVE in it… but I LOVE it just the same!! (and it has probably the only type of cat I could own…

  7. Lilly says:

    This is madness!

  8. Cindy B says:

Thanks so much for sharing this! It was awesome. I am a huge Lego fan, this is great.

  9. heidi says:

But wait, it WAS for sale! It never had a buyer though =(

Wish I knew what actually happened to it…

  10. robyn says:

That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen. Ha! I’d like to see the guy take a dump in a Lego toilet (figure of speech–not really “SEE”) and then wipe his arse with Lego toilet paper. He thinks the slippers are uncomfortable, eh?

    • SirCannonFodder says:

Actually, if you watch the show you’ll see that he did use the built in fully-functioning lego toilet (he spent 24 hours there, after all. He took a shower as well). Granted, the toilet paper was made of paper and not lego, but still. One issue that came up at a rather… inconvenient time is the fact that lego isn’t waterproof.

    • Bill says:

You may be taking life a little too seriously. Art = stupid? How can anyone be cantankerous over someone else doing something exceptionally extravagant (that is not using tax dollars or such) for the sake of everyone’s amusement?

Well, maybe it was a bad day, and you were looking at it in the wrong light. Hope you have better success at enjoyment of the rest of life.

  11. Amanda says:

Actually, I think this is awesome too! (“I have boney buttocks”…ha!)

  12. blu_canary says:

I want one in my back yard! Would be a great library/retreat for me! (With real books and maybe a soft, comfy chair for my boney buttocks.)

  13. Erin says:

OMG Someone stole the cat!? Are you serious!? I wanted that cat!! lol I loved the kitchen and all the decor hehe This house has been a topic of discussion since it aired, still cringing at the poor woman who made the furniture.

  14. Nana says:

This is my first encounter with James May. What I love is how genuinely delighted he seems with his Lego house; it’s charming.

  15. ShakyLegoMan says:

It’s amazing what one can do with a half million or so Lego bricks. Great job. I hope the cat finds it’s way home.

  16. GYW says:

Love the Lego house. When I was watching this episode I commented to Mr GYW that it should be on this site – and here it is!

  17. Jim-Bob says:

The whole “James May’s Toy Stories” series was excellent. As a US resident, I had to pirate it off the internet (Flash video), but it was well worth watching. James May is even better in his specials than he is in Top Gear and in my mind is the most talented of the three presenters. Also worth watching are the rest of his Open University specials like ” James May’s 20th Century”, or the one about teen culture, or the other two about toys.

  18. jenjen says:

Sadly it was pulled down due to no one taking up the offer, the idea of takeing it is nice but the realities will have put a stop to any one who wasn’t a multi millionaire with money to burn, sad, really loved the show, my fave was the scalextric track round the site of the first race track in the UK but all the shows in the series were fantastic, love James May. Here is a link detailing the sad demise of the lego house :( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6218773/James-Mays-Lego-house-knocked-down.html

  19. EllieJ says:

They took all the bricks to Legoland Windsor so other kids could play with them, I was so pleased when I found out.

James May is pretty much my hero, I’m ashamed to admit. One (of very few) reasons why I’m proud to be English.

  20. Sarge says:

I LOL’d when he sat in the chair and it broke.

  21. Java says:

I love James May. I hate that he was away filming Top Gear when they announced they were tearing down the Lego House. He has some of the most wonderful ideas.

  22. Sarah! says:

Woo and Yay! My two favorite things ever!
    James May and Lovely.. Well!
One of my favorite things ever!
    Kidding, love this site. xD
