Lovely Listing

« Previous | Next »

Heated by the smoldering good looks of the residents

“Perfect for any sophisticated Buyer!” says the listing. Especially perfect if the buyer is all pale and moody and sparkly and got into his mom’s makeup. For yes, this is the house of the creepy stalker dreamy vampire Edward Cullen. Or it would be if he weren’t (look away, Twihards) fictional. I, of course, do not admit to familiarity with any of the books or having seen any of the movies, because I’m above all that. Anyway.

Here’s where the Cullens keep their books, which they throw at their guests in the hope of inducing paper cuts. They hang a beach towel on the wall in memory of when they last went surfing.

Here’s the kitchen where the Cullens prepare their strict raw vegan diet:

This nubby-floored room is where they practice sliding into home plate:

Nobody knows what this room is for:

It is a mystery.

All that space! :: drools :: If any vampire owned this it would be former Toronto Detective Nicolas de Brebant and his beloved former Chief Coroner Natalie Lambert (she in 1996?) where they spend their endless Forever Knights!

  2. TH says:

Now that is sad.. I looks so nice, but you can’t invite people over in the fear that one of them might, just might recognize it, and you’ll turn red and mutter between your teeths: I.. bought… it.. for… the.. view.

Or maybe get a big-ass poster of Edward in the living room, some blood on the carpet, and claim it came with the house.

Now that I think about it, I want this, sparkly emo vampires be damned!

  3. Sarah says:

And you see that white and brown house through the trees, in the “This nubby-floored room is where they practice sliding into home plate”?

That house is where one of your faithful readers grew up. Sadly, there were no vampires living next door back then.

  4. Anodean says:

Do the sparkly vampires fly, in the story-which-must-not-be-named? Because if I could fly, and lived in a place that rained and snowed a lot, I would definitely want this place so I could fly indoors. Def.

Otherwise, you know those trendy dwellings that have been cleverly re-made from massive warehouse spaces? I think somebody actually *built a warehouse* especially to make this. Or said he did, once he realized which set of plans they’d poured.

  5. Sarah says:

Anodean, not to worry – it doesn’t snow a lot in Vancouver. Didn’t you watch the winter Olympics? :)

The house has been there since the late 60s, at least (at one point, there was a “bunch of hippies”, according to my mother, living there, who would sing songs of praise to the sun while naked on the lawn). The front door dates back to about that time, I believe.

The house was extensively remodeled in the 80s, and then again later on (2001, apparently).

    • Sangelia says:

obviously the owners were not very big on reading. not a big enough bookcase there. more for show that they were semi-literate.

  6. kalli6 says:

If I had the money, I would buy this because it is a British Properties Arthur Erikson for only $3.3M. That is actually a really good deal in that neighbourhood. I would however redecorate as much as I could to hide the Twilight link.

    • Layla says:

I would totally captalize on the Twilight link, and sell tours to the house. That way I could make my money back and then some. Maybe even make into a inn where people could stay the night at the Cullen’s.

  7. Stuart says:

Okay, I’ve never actually been a vampire nor have I played one on TV, but if I were a vampire, not saying I am, but if I were, I really don’t think I’d want a place with that many windows.

Not because of the death effect, mind you, but because sunlight takes away from the lovely sparkles.

Not that I know anything about sparkles. I don’t sparkle. Nosirree.

I had to click on the link to get the joke. I know nothing of Twilight.

    *gasp*

    It’s the Sparklerosa!!
    *collapses into hysterical giggles*

  11. Yeshanu says:

That house was the only thing I really loved about the movie. I wish I had the cash… *sigh*

SQUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Comfy Couch rocking the Forever Knight shout-out!!!

I have 3 FK novels checked out from the library right now! And, I’ve been battling a stretch of insomnia and actually dozed off in the wee hours of this morning watching an FK DVD! :)

Let’s sic LaCroix on Edward, shall we?

    • Comfy Cushion says:

Forever Knight, Season Two “Stranger Than Fiction” (maybe this is why the author stated that she doesn’t really care for vampires)…

Sure, you call LaCroix and I’ll make stakes :)

  13. NSnyder says:

Okay, I have no interest in seeing the movies and I know only the basic facts about the books. But, COME ON. There is not a house in Forks that looks anything like this, I don’t care how rich Dr. Vampire is. It’s a nice enough town, but it is not the type of place that would embrace modern architecture.

(Not to be intemperate, but I was creeped out by Forks, and I spent my youth in some wooded, unincorporated Texas settlements where you half expected to stumble upon a pile of skulls or see Ned Beatty run out of the forest in his underwear. Forks was just freaking unnerving.)

  14. Nancy says:

Since the stairs only go to a solid window wall are they really bleachers in the nubby room?

  15. Janet says:

I stayed at a B&B in Forks (many years ago before the vampires moved in) that was a modern looking A frame building with lots of wood and big windows. Not this big of course but still modern style. So there is at least one modern architecture building in Forks. Or was.

  16. Lindsey says:

Damn, this ruins my streak of hating everything Twilight-related. This is actually a beautiful house. Too bad it’s been tainted with the association.

  17. ...... says:

I don’t get it… Is it the house they used in Twilight? If so, burn it.

    • Shrapnel says:

It’s where the scenes were shot…and also looks much like a lot of expensive houses in the Vancouver/ Lower Rainland…I mean, Lower Mainland area. The Prairie School style is very popular out there.

  18. umm says:

i personally would stomp twilight but damn i WANT THIS PLACE *_*…it perfectly fits my dream home

  19. Icicle says:

I dont care that its from twilight, I think this house is amazing, it’s my dream house -glass japanese WITH A LIBRARY
