funny real estate - The Wine Cellar Dreams are Made of

YES  I want to move to this former windmill. YES YES YES I will live in it and grind my own flour and get a job making tricks for a magician while I solve crimes on the side. But the wine cellar? Let’s be realistic. It’s going to look a little more like this after I move in:

(Yes, my beer floats. Wanna make something out of it?)

Loveliest comment, by Stuart: I would totally buy this place just so I could tell my kid (assuming I had a kid) to go sit in the corner if he misbehaves.

funny real estate - Taking DIY to a New Level
You know how it is. You’re lounging on your sofa, you have a call of nature but the bathroom is so far away. Worry no more! Now you can poop where you nap, and nap where you poop! You’ll be like a frikking cat. It’ll be great.

Found by: Nana. Sorry, but it is Not For Sale.

Loveliest comment, by bryn: Oh dear god no! Smell is particulate people. How many bazillions of poo particles are settled into those cushions? Even dainty poo particles are horrifying. Soft furnishings and lavvies do not mix. No fluffy loo seat covers, no spanish lady bogroll covers and NO CUSHIONS!

Debbie Reynolds Doll is Selling Her House!

Sep. 28, 2010

funny real estate - Debbie Reynolds Doll is Selling Her House!

As a real estate paraprofessional, I immediately understand why the agent included these photos of the doll: it’s to mumble the mumble while mumbling the mumble. Unfortunately, the agent forgot the captions. But don’t worry! My excellent Photoshop skills are here!

Hope that helps. Have a nice day!

Going to Sell this Brokedown Palace

funny real estate - RIP Jerry Garcia, Can You Lower the Price a Little?

Ta dah! It’s… Jerry Garcia’s house! You can tell by all the tie-died wall hangings, the falafel sandwiches being assembled in the kitchen, the prayer flags in the driveway… wait a sec. None of those items are here. Not a strip of Guatemalan cloth to be seen. Where are the Baja hoodies? The hackey sacks? The dogs?

I’ve known many a fan of the Grateful Dead, and none of them live in houses like this. Does this mean that Jerry was not, in fact, a Deadhead? Apart from one framed poster, here’s the only hippie relic I’ve spotted:

What is it? Eh, it’s just a box of heat. I don’t know who built it there.

Loveliest comment, by Stuart: It’s not so much a sauna as it is a whole-house bong.

Chairtuday! Chair’s Civic Duty

Sep. 25, 2010

funny real estate - Chair's Civic Duty

Everything’s bigger in Samoa — even Chair fills in a bit. But Chair doesn’t let any extra heft get in the way of a Chair’s duty to help stomp down the trash to keep it from blowing away.

While trying to figure out how to say “Good job!” in Samoan, I found this rather disturbing progression:

Do you speak English? Ete tautala Igilisi?
Do you know someone who speaks English? Ete iloa se isi e tautala Igilisi?
Do you love me? Ete alofa ia a’u?
How are you? O fa’apefea mai oe? -or- O a mai oe?
I’m fine, thank you. O Lelei au, fa’afetai.
How was your day? O fa’apefea mai lou aso?
How much is it? E fia le tau?
I love you. Oute alofa ia oe  (E alofa a’u ia oe).
I’m okay. O lea lava o lelei a’u.
Is it allowed? E fa’ataga?
Is swimming allowed? E fa’ataga ona au’au?
Please, I need some help. Fa’amolemole, Oute fia maua se fesoasoani.
Please, help. Fa’amolemole, fesoasoani mai.
Please, don’t hurt me. Fa’amolemole, aua le fasi a’u.
Where is the church? Ofea le fale lotu
Where is the Methodist church? Ofea le fale lotu Metotisi?
Where is the LDS church? Ofea le fale lotu Mamona?
Where is the Catholic church? Ofea le fale lotu Kateliko?
Where is the police station? Ofea le fale leoleo?
Where is the store? Ofea le fale oloa?
Where is the nearest store? Ofea le fale oloa e lata mai?
Where is the hospital? Ofea le fale ma’i?
Who are you?

What happened to this poor person? I think they went swimming, got a cramp, desperately sought solace in a religion — any religion, please, just tell me where a church is – and then things took… a darker turn.

Loveliest comment, by SilvaNoir: Seems like they sought love form a Samoan -the WRONG Samoan, and then was badly hurt. First they almost drown and beg for help… and seems that help came a little too roughly. Then they seek help from a church… the police… maybe try to find some first aid at a store, realize they need a hospital… and finally the Samoan conks them over the head so hard they don’t remember a thing.

Fear Missourans, Even Those Bearing Gifts

Sep. 24, 2010

funny real estate - Oh Yeah We're Selling a House Too

Oh, what a nice wooden Jeep! It must be an offering to Athena. I shall wheel it into my city. What could possibly go wrong?

Found by: Scott. This property is in Missouri. It costs $149,000. The main photo on the listing is of the jeep, but there’s a house that comes with it.

Loveliest comment, by JMixx:  Apparently the battle took place in the kitchen, where the wall next to the mirror is scarred. The kitchen bottles and jars are huddled on top of the cabinets, fearing for their virtue.

And there appears to be an alien spacecraft strolling through the living room. Oh, to be a fly on the “high-end cabinets”!!
