A “Walker” to Remember

funny real estate - A "Walker" To Remember

funny real estate - A Walker to Remember
Built by mid-century modern designer Rodney Walker, this breathtaking 4,300-square-foot home was completed in 1959 and features 17-foot high ceilings, four bedrooms, three baths and floor to ceiling windows overlooking California’s Ojai Valley.

Although Walker’s three Case Study Houses in Southern California are internationally known and celebrated, his personal residence (pictured here) remained a mystery to the public until his death in 1986.

The home is currently on the market with a price of $4 million, which seems like a steal considering real estate prices in California. I would think with the popularity of period piece shows like “Pan-Am” and “Mad Men” on television, unique houses like this would be selling for way more money.

Are there any California Lovely Listers that can add some insight to the current home prices for the rest of us? People with inquiring minds want to know!

funny real estate - Lovely Listers: Richard Rogers

Hello from Paris! Okay so I’m not really writing from Paris, I’m way too busy wandering around and taking in the wines, I mean sites! So I’m here from the past to talk to you about Richard Rogers, the British architect who was instrumental in the design of the Pompidou Centre in Paris! Chances are I’m at the Pompidou this very minute! Amazing! I’m having so much fun!

funny real estate - Glad To Have You Home!

Living in a motor home wouldn’t be so bad if it smiled at me every time I came home.

Why Does a Horse Need Dressers?

Sep. 30, 2011

funny real estate - Why Does a Horse Need Dressers?

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
No one can sell a house to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse wants… a nice white fluffy bed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse
He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse.
He’s buying a house because of divorce.
He wants a fluffy bed.

People yakkity-yak the street and waste your time of day
But a horse will never speak unless he has something to say

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And this one’ll talk ’til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?

Well listen to this: “I want a fluffy bed.”

funny real estate - At One With the Waves
The Casey Key Guest House is a single family conceptual residence designed by TOTeMS Architecture, inspired by attributes of the live oaks that surround the house and the ocean waves that define the southern boundary of the property.

The home features a single bedroom, plus living area with adjoining kitchen, bathroom and expansive loft that provides an open, expansive interior thanks to the breathtaking floor to ceiling windows that seem to pull nature indoors for you to enjoy.
