Chairturday! Chair At Mardi Gras

Feb. 27, 2010

funny real estate

For Lent, Chair has given up dignity.

Found by: Suga (not from a listing)

Loveliest comment, by Jorg: Being an old fashioned sort of girl, Chair dresses modestly in loose, flowing clothes in order to conceal the impending arrival of Stroller.

Chairtuday! Roots.

Feb. 6, 2010

funny real estate

Like so many who immigrated at a young age, Chair has always been curious about the land of Chair’s birth. Here, we see Chair taking in Hong Kong before heading off to the Pearl River Delta, hoping to meet relatives Chair left behind.

Chairturday! The Reunion Continues

Jan. 9, 2010

Chair goes on a fishing trip

Fishin’… at the fishin’ hole…

Submitted By: Snoskred

Loveliest comment, by Scuzz: This is actually a very special moment in young Chair’s life. It’s when, while fishing, Chair’s dad finally explained where little footstools come from.

Chairturday: Chair Family Reunion

Jan. 9, 2010

Chair Meeting

Aww, Chair and Chair’s cousins have all gotten together for a weenie roast. And because Chairs are considerate, they met in a place that Swing, their cousin who uses a walker, could get to. (I hope you appreciate my Chair first language.)

Chairturday: Chair On Guard

Jan. 2, 2010

Chair On Guard

It’s the first Chairturday of 2010! Let’s cheat and use a photo that isn’t from a listing, just because! CAUTION: GUARD CHAIRS

I like the look they’re going for. So much better than the stone lions you sometimes see… come to think of it… I have a little suggestion for the New York Public Library. Sure, people might better know the Humanities and Social Sciences Library as “the library with the lions.” But after 99 years don’t you think we’re a little bored with Brooke and Astor, or Sarah Jessica and Matthew, or Patience and Fortitude, or whatever they’re named? Sure, this is pretty:

But this? This is noble:

Original NYPL photo by Roy Tennant. The trick to a successful Photoshop job is making sure you keep the perspective realistic. And remember: only experts should use the clone stamp tool.

Loveliest comment, by SpaniardX: One of us speaks truth. One of us speaks lies. You may ask one question….

Chairturday! Making Chair Angels

Dec. 26, 2009

Adventures Of Chair - Chair Angels
Do you know what it’s like to realize you haven’t done a post for the next day yet and it’s really time to do it because Christmas dinner is about to be served and you really need to get the Santa Claus bread out before anyone has a chance to object and you’re already a bit tipsy but you don’t want to miss a day because you’ve been doing a blog for 1 1/2 years and you haven’t missed a day yet and you don’t want to break the chain and you’ve already decided to go with the Chair angels but you can’t think what to say in the caption and then your ever-so-helpful spouse walks up behind you and shouts “be funny! Now! Funny! No, funnier!” and if you don’t hurry up and finish you’re going to be stuck at the kiddie table?

Yeah, me neither. Cheers! And apologies for the writing-about-writing which is always so freaking boring but it’s the best I can do under these conditions. Blame my brother-in-law and the mean Old Blue Eye he mixed me.
